Reservations Agent and Licensed Property Manager

Mountain Town Properties is seeking a self motivated and high energy individual to join our team as Short Term Rentals Reservations Agent and Property Manager Assistant, evolving to add Property Management license for long term rentals.

Requirements and preferences given to:
– experience and education in tourism and hospitality industry
– computer experience: Excel, Word, email client, website experience (Word Press), social media marketing, any property management software
– commitment to enrol in licensing course at own expense
– licensed within 15 months of start date
– currently lives locally
– highly and self-motivated, must be wiling to work peak season, evenings and weekends when required
– provide own reliable winterized vehicle and related expenses
– provide own laptop computer (PC), software Microsoft Office, cell phone with long distance plan and related expenses

Start Date: flexible and/or immediately.
This position is of Independent Contractor and commissioned remuneration.
Estimated earnings start at $30,000 and increasing with licensing.
Commencing immediately as Reservation Agent and Property Manager Assistant while studying towards obtaining license within 15 months.

This ‘job’ is regarded as a career opportunity with on-the-job training and professional mentorship, while studying via correspondence education for the licensing requirement portion.

Bookkeeper and Owner Accounts Manager

25-35 hours per week
$25.00 / hour

Our bookkeeper needs to have experience with Sage Simply Accounting, monthly bank reconciliations and trust accounts. The Owner Accounts Manager will also be required to produce monthly homeowner statements and to arrange payments to owners and contractors.

– confirming that guest reservation payments have been received
– assisting with annual trust account audits and consumer protection disclosure requirements

Property Maintenance Personnel

Effective now, we’re seeking to contract with a handyman / property maintenance person to assist us with all facets of indoor, outdoor and seasonal care of properties that we manage.

15-25 hours per week
$22.50 / hour

As contracted Property Maintenance Person you will be responsible for the general maintenance of properties located in Rossland and Red Mountain areas. You will help to protect the owners’ investments by checking properties both inside and out for safety and function and you will effectively and efficiently deal with all property maintenance tasks.  You will be responsible to hold current Commercial General Liability insurance.

Qualifying Skills:
This position is to be offered to a year round resident; this is not a seasonal position.
Must be outgoing and courteous since Guest and Owner interaction is inevitable.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends & holidays.
Competent and strong skills with computer applications are essential.
Must be highly organized and attentive to details.

Routine Maintenance:
To be performed before, during (if necessary) and following guests’ stay:

Respond to all calls for maintenance to inspect and diagnose the problem.
Basic troubleshooting of plumbing and electrical systems.
Ensure adequate smoke detectors are working.
Reset/turn on circuit breakers.
Instruct guests on use electronic equipment, hot tubs, BBQ, heating and cooling systems. Reprogram TV controls as needed.
Report to the Manager if destruction or damage has been done to the property by a guest.
Mouse trapping.
Respond to and inspect all appliance malfunctions.
Continuous and on-going exterior property assessments and recommendations.
Account for inventory as related to property’s exterior or mechanical areas.

The Property Maintenance Person can expect to be busy during certain times of the year that travel and tourism occurs, such as all major and minor holidays, weekends and evenings in addition to spring and fall when non-routine maintenance tasks are performed. If you are not available during these times, you are required to arrange for your qualified replacement. You may be expected to “achieve the impossible”, dealing with short timelines, urgent and emergency situations and inclement weather.
