2026 Rent Increase Set at 2.3%

2026 Rent Increase for BC set at 2.3%

From LandlordBC – August 28, 2025

The Province has announced the maximum allowable rent increase for 2026 at 2.3%. While we recognize that renters are feeling the strain of rising costs, housing providers are facing the same pressures with expenses for maintenance, insurance, utilities, financing, and property management continuing to climb.

Remember that rent increases for long term (month to month) can only take effect 12 months after the last increase, and notices must be served three full months in advance using the approved form.
